SOMEDAY WE WILL UNDERSTAND
Many things happen to us,
And we wonder in our spirit
If there is any good in them.
But through it all, we gain the assurance
Of the presence of the Most High.
The Most High will not abandon Jacob,
For so great is His love for His own
That He keeps them—
Protecting them from shame
And the antagonism of Satan.
So, as we journey through this life
With all its uncertainties,
We wonder why the trials come
With their excruciating pain
And question if they make any sense.
We do not understand them all—
And we are not called to.
For in the midst of it all,
God is working on His purpose
To bring us to an expected end.
Through it all,
Someday, we will understand.

BIOGRAPHY OF THE LATE MRS. GRACE YAA DARKOA TWUM-DANSO
Early Life
Mrs. Grace Twum-Danso was born on 9th August, 1945. She began her education in 1953 and was enrolled at Maase Primary and Junior School, completing her studies at Standard Four, where she obtained her Middle School Leaving Certificate (MSLC). She excelled in Home Science—catering services and home management—what we now refer to as Home Economics. Mama Grace embraced these skills with such enthusiasm and joy that her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends always enjoyed the warmth of her home and her delicious meals.
Family Life
Mama Grace married Mr. Kwasi Gyan Twum-Danso, also from Akyem-Maase, in 1964. They were blessed with four children: Frederick, Millicent, Vivian, and Eugene. She also lovingly raised the children of her siblings and other relatives.
Mama Grace and her husband lived at Aviation Flats–Asylum Down in Accra before relocating to Sekondi-Takoradi, where they spent a significant part of their lives together.
In 1990, following her husband’s early retirement from Cocoa Processing Company, the family moved to Koforidua. There, she pursued trading and owned a shop in Koforidua market, while her husband ventured into other business activities.
Later, they settled in Accra, where Mama Grace continued her trading and established a new shop at ‘Mayehot’, popularly known as ‘MilliMum Enterprise’. She worked tirelessly for her family, relatives, and everyone she encountered.
In 2007, when all her children had left home, Mr. and Mrs. Twum-Danso returned to Maase, where they enjoyed their retirement together until her sudden passing on February 12 2025, at the Akyem-Tafo Hospital.
Hobbies
Mrs. Twum-Danso was passionate about farming, including both gardening and raising livestock, and she often shared her produce with family and friends. She loved to cook and bake and was also an avid enthusiast of music and movies, frequently delighting her children and grandchildren with her joyful, impromptu dancing moments.
Christian Life
Mrs. Twum-Danso was a staunch Methodist, devoted to both worship and service. While living in Sekondi-Takoradi, she was an active member of the Singing Band and Women’s Fellowship at Hosanna Methodist Church, where she eventually became the Chairperson/President of the Women’s Fellowship. She traveled for Conferences and Officers’ Training in Kwadaso, often returning with new hymns and songs, filling her home with music and joy.
Her hospitality was well known—ministers who visited the home after church always felt her warmth and were treated to refreshments before being driven back to the Manse by her husband, who served as the Church Steward.
In Accra, she became a member of the Women’s Fellowship at Emmanuel Society, Ashaley-Botwe Circuit, and the Ebenezer Society in the Madina Circuit, which is now the Cathedral of the Northern Accra Diocese (NAD).
Eventually, Mama Grace became the Secretary of the Women’s Fellowship at Mt. Olivet Methodist Church, Akyem-Maase Circuit, and later a Leader of the Church, where she worshipped faithfully until she was called home by her Maker.
A good mother who supported the husband to successfully raise their children in a godly way of life during their 60 years of marriage.
She was not only a mother to her children but also raised other children including her grandchildren as her own, who are currently not only in noble professions, but also in good social standing-impacting their generation in the communities they live in.
